Please contact us at rockrivertactical@gmail.com if your question is not answered below.
-
What identification is required to pick up a firearm?
Proof of Identity & Age: The document must be government-issued and include a photograph (e.g., a driver’s license, state ID card, or passport).
Proof of Residency: The document must show your current residence address.
-
My address on my ID is incorrect. What do I need?
If your issuing agency has updated your address, your ID may still be used for identity and birth verification. You must also provide a secondary government-issued document verifying current residence (e.g., vehicle registration, voter ID, or concealed carry permit).
-
Can I purchase a firearm online from another state?
Handguns must be transferred within the buyer's state of residence. Long guns may be transferred across state lines in certain cases, subject to federal, state, and local law. Always verify applicable regulations before purchase.
-
What if I'm unsure about passing a background check?
Consult local authorities or legal counsel before initiating a firearm transfer.
-
What happens if my background check is denied? Can someone else pick it up?
No. Firearms cannot be transferred to another individual on behalf of a prohibited person. This is considered a straw purchase, a serious federal offense punishable by fines up to $250,000 and up to 10 years in prison. If a background check is denied, the firearm purchase price will be refunded to the original buyer (minus applicable restocking fees).
