Service & Pricing Schedule
Essential Services
Diagnostic Inspection: $50 – Comprehensive evaluation to identify mechanical issues; fee is applied toward the cost of repair if service is performed.
Function / Safety Check: $25 – Comprehensive inspection of mechanical parts to ensure the firearm operates safely and all safety mechanisms engage correctly.
Note: Firearms must be presented in a reasonably clean condition. Excessively fouled firearms may be subject to a Level 1 Cleaning fee before inspection.
Cleaning Services
Level 1 Cleaning (Field Strip):
- Rifle/Shotgun: $40 / Pistol: $30 – Breakdown of the firearm to clean and lubricate accessible moving parts and the barrel.
Level 2 Cleaning (Detail Strip):
- Rifle/Shotgun: $85 / Pistol: $50 – Complete disassembly of the action and internal components to remove deep carbon, debris, and old lubricant.
Trigger and Sights
Trigger Installation (Rifle/Standard): $75 – Installation of drop-in or standard trigger groups.
Trigger Installation (Pistol): $60 – Installation of aftermarket trigger kits to improve pull, break, and reset.
Sight Installation (Handgun): $40 – Precision installation using a sight pusher to prevent slide damage; includes point-of-aim alignment.
Drill & Tap (Machining): $40 per hole – Precision drilling and threading for custom base mounting.
"Custom Fit" Package: Starting at $250 – Includes drilling/tapping (up to 4 holes), precision mounting, and laser boresighting.
Tactical Platform ServicesÂ
Complete Upper Assembly: $75 – Professional assembly of a barreled upper receiver from parts, ensuring proper barrel nut torque and alignment.
Complete Lower Assembly: $75 – Installation of the lower parts kit, buffer tube, and stock assembly for a complete lower receiver.
Gas Block / Gas Tube Install: $60 – Installation or replacement of the gas block and tube, ensuring proper alignment with the gas port for reliable cycling.
Muzzle Device Timing: $80 – Proper indexing of brakes or compensators to ensure alignment with the bore axis.
- Shim kits provided at an additional cost if required.
AR Barrel Swap: $70 – Removal of existing barrel and installation of new barrel, ensuring correct indexing and alignment.
- Includes Headspace Verification for safety and technical accuracy.
Headspace Verification: $50 – Critical safety check using precision headspace gauges to ensure the barrel and bolt are correctly matched.
Optic Services & Package Deals
Laser Boresighting: $50 – Using specialized laser equipment to align your optic to the bore for range readiness.
Basic Mounting: $65 – Professional installation, eye relief adjustment, and torqueing to manufacturer specifications.
Precision Mounting: $110 – Basic mounting plus internal ring lapping for perfect surface-to-surface contact.
Zero-Ready Package: $150 (Best Value) – Includes Precision Mounting, ring lapping, and professional laser boresighting (Save $10).
Service & Refresh Package: $95 – Inspection, torque verification, ring lapping, and laser boresighting for existing optics.
Terms of Sevice & Shop Policies
Hourly Labor Rate: $85 per hour for custom/diagnostic work not listed, billed in 30-minute increments after the first hour.
Minimum Shop Charge: $40.
Mounting Standards: All optic installations are torqued to manufacturer specifications.
Range Readiness: Rock River Tactical recommends live-fire zeroing at the range after all optic services.
Liability: All machining and custom work is performed to industry standards.
Materials Note: Rock River Tactical reserves the right to charge an additional fee for work on hardened steel receivers or non-standard platforms.
Parts Policy: We cannot warranty labor performed on customer-supplied parts that are found to be out of manufacturer specifications.

Service Level 1: The Field-Strip Clean
Disassembly to the manufacturer-recommended field-strip level.
Thorough carbon removal from barrel, bolt/slide, and receiver.
Visual inspection for wear or potential failure points.
Professional lubrication of critical friction surfaces.
Full reassembly and function check.
Service Level 2: The Detailed Armory Clean
Designed for restoration, longevity, and peak mechanical performance. Advanced deep-clean service including:
Complete disassembly down to pins, springs, and internal components.
Ultrasonic or deep solvent bath cleaning for carbon, lead, and copper fouling.
Individual hand-cleaning of every component, including the trigger group.
Advanced inspection of springs and small parts for tension and integrity.
Corrosion prevention and precision lubrication treatment.
Full reassembly and multi-point function testing.
